Our Curriculum at Cropredy CE Primary School

Cropredy is a Church of England Primary School situated on a green-field site, in an idyllic rural setting.  Our school is guided by Christian principles and values, taking inspiration from Psalm 23.

‘The Lord is my Shepherd’
As a shepherd nurtures and provides for the flock, so we provide guidance, care and protection for every child, inspiring them to flourish, develop resilience and walk with confidence on their learning journey.
Intent - our vision for our curriculum.
At Cropredy CE Primary School, our intent is for all the children in our care, to achieve their full potential across every aspect of their school lives, providing each child with every opportunity to enjoy, thrive and achieve the best that they can, developing a life-long love of learning.

We are committed to develop each child’s unique potential, within a secure and caring environment; where their spiritual, moral, emotional, physical and intellectual knowledge and understanding are developed. We aim to help all our children to learn and apply their learning, enabling them to contribute successfully to their local community and best prepare them for our ever-changing world.

Our planned and carefully sequenced curriculum enables pupils to develop the resilience to persevere with their learning, to investigate, reason and reflect, within a learning community that encourages taking risks and making decisions.

We aim to provide an ambitious curriculum which enables all learners, in particular the most disadvantaged and those with SEND, to be successful in being the best that they can be; a curriculum which enhances purposeful learning, ensuring depth, breadth, balance and progression.

At Cropredy CE Primary School, we also wholeheartedly value the importance of our outdoor environment and believe that it offers children the opportunity to develop their thinking and build their resilience, using problem solving skills when facing difficulties and challenges. Skills that ensure they can meet the challenges of life with confidence.  With guidance children are encouraged to embrace and celebrate their unique individuality and celebrate diversity in a safe place.

To support the implementation of our vision we will create:
  • A stimulating environment for developing inquisitive, independent and resilient lifelong learners who work hard and strive for excellence
  • A culture of working independently and collaboratively, where we see getting something wrong as part of learning how to get it right
  • An ethos where all children are encouraged and supported and challenge is fully embraced
  • Exciting and challenging opportunities to promote our children’s personal development and understanding of their own emotional and physical wellbeing
  • Resilient, inquisitive and independent lifelong learners
