Vacancy for Early Years Teaching Assistant – March 2021

Cropredy Primary School is a small village school in an idyllic rural setting with an energetic, close knit staff, who are dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for all our children and families. The school has a new, strong leadership team, and is embarking on an exciting period of curriculum development and improvement, while forging closer links with the wider community and expanding the extracurricular opportunities available to our children. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant for our Reception class of 30, to provide support to children under the direction of the class teacher. The successful candidate will be required to step up to cover for the teacher as required (e.g., during Planning and Preparation time).  Applicants should be flexible, friendly, enthusiastic, and caring, and be able to work with the class team to promote the best outcomes for the children. We are especially looking for someone who has previous experience of delivering interventions.

The hours will be Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 3.00pm, (32.5 hours with half an hour unpaid lunch break), term time only.

 

This is a permanent position within the school, subject to successful completion of a probationary period.

The successful candidate should have:

  • NVQ 3 or Level 3 Diploma for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification

  • Significant experience of working in an Early Years setting.

  • Current knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework.

  • Experience of delivering interventions.

  • The ability to build appropriate and supportive relationships with pupils.

  • A positive attitude and be patient and caring.

  • Extremely high standards and expectations of themselves and others.

  • Communicate well and enjoy working collaboratively.

  • Strong organisation skills and enthusiasm for working within Early Years.

  • A commitment to inclusion.
